NEIL RESNICK

Co-head coach Neil Resnick enters his seventh season at the helm of the Boise State gymnastics team. Under the direction of Bird and Resnick, the Broncos have gone 113-37 (.753) and have finished in the nation's top-25 all six seasons, including a 13th-place finish in 2011.

Bird and Resnick have led their team to six NCAA Regional appearances, placing as high as third, while also capturing four Western Athletic Conference Championships titles and one WAC regular season title since 2008.

The duo has garnered the honors of WAC Co-Head Coaches in 2008, 2009 and 2013, as well as the NCAA West Regional Co-Head Coaches of the Year honor in 2008.

In addition to their own accolades, Bird and Resnick have coached numerous student-athletes to top honors. Amy Glass was named the 2012 AAI Award winner for the nation's top gymnast, while also earning the 2010 NCAA West Region Gymnast of the Year and 2011 WAC Gymnast of the Year honors. Joining her as top conference honorees, Hannah Redmon and Caitlin Mann earned WAC Gymnast of the Year nods in 2008 and 2013, respectively. Redmon was also named WAC Freshman of the Year in 2008, while Maddie Krentz earned the honor in 2013.

Glass was the first NCAA All-American under the coaching duo, earning a second-team honor on balance beam (9.90) after her seventh-place finish at the 2012 NCAA Championships. She went on to set NCAA meet school records on vault (9.875), beam (9.90), floor (9.850) and all-around (39.275). Glass was also the first two-time national qualifier under Bird and Resnick, advancing to the national meet in 2011 and 2012 in the all-around. Redmon was the coaches' first NCAA qualifier, advancing in 2010 on vault and floor exercise, while Bekah Gher advanced on beam in 2011. The same trio of NCAA qualifiers earned NCAA Regional wins on vault (Redmon, 2010; Glass, 2012), beam (Gher, 2011) and floor exercise (Redmon, 2010) in the past six years. Bird and Resnick have produced 14 WAC individual event champions, 21 All-WAC First Team and 20 All-WAC Second Team honorees. Their gymnasts have also earned 17 WAC Gymnast of the Week and 22 WAC Specialist of the Week nods.

Since the pair took control of the program, the Broncos have earned 18 of the school's top-25 all-time best team scores, tying the school record of 197.050 in 2011. The Broncos also set the school's top team mark on vault, earning a score of 49.575 at the 2010 NCAA Regional meet. Individually, three Broncos have set school records under the guidance of Bird and Resnick, including Glass (season all-around wins, 9; and season beam wins, 7), Redmon (season floor wins, 8; career floor wins, 21), and Lindsay Ward (season bars wins, 8; career bars wins, 20; career beam wins, 18), while three (Kelsey Black, 2013; Brittany Potvin-Green, 2012 & 2013; Sarah Smith, 2008) have tied the school record on floor (9.950).

In conference and regional competitions, the Broncos have set multiple school records, including the team's conference vault performance in 2013 (49.40). In regional meets, the team has earned scores of 196.40 overall (2011), 49.575 on vault (2010) and 49.125 on bars (2011) for school records. Individually, Redmon holds school records in regional vault score (9.975) and regional bars score (9.90), while Glass holds the best regional all-around score (39.450) by a Bronco.

The Broncos have also had strong academic success in the past six years, landing 48 All-WAC Academic honorees, 44 NACGC/W Scholar All-Americans and three Mountain West Scholar Athletes. In addition, the 2010 Broncos earned the No. 11 spot in the NACGC/W team academic rankings.

Resnick was named co-head coach of the Boise State gymnastics team in 2007 after serving as an assistant coach under Sam Sandmire for one season. Resnick brought with him to Boise State a lifetime of experience and knowledge, as well as a significant amount of respect from his peers at all levels of gymnastics.

Prior to coming to Boise State, Resnick was the owner, director and head coach of Flips USA Gymnastics in Sparks, Nev., where he coached numerous high caliber competitors including various international, national, regional, and state champions. Among his athletes were many Elite Level qualifiers and 27 NCAA scholarship recipients. With Resnick overseeing the private gymnastics academy, Flips USA garnered more than 20 consecutive Nevada State Open Division championship titles.

He has served as both an auxiliary and a full time member of the USA Gymnastics national coaching staff, training and consulting the nation's top gymnasts. He was also a national staff member attending the World Championships in 2003.

As a master clinician and skill evaluator for the USAG National TOPS program, Resnick tested, trained and developed the nation's most talented young gymnasts and their coaches in the early stages of their careers. Resnick has also authored training curriculums used by both USAG coaches and the Gymnastics Association of Texas.

He served as the Region I Junior Olympic National Committee Chairman for many years, and was part of the coaching staff at the Junior Olympic training camps held at the US Olympic training center.

Prior to owning Flips USA, Resnick was the program director and head coach for Le Club Gymnastics in Northridge, Calif. He served as a volunteer coach for CSU Northridge's women's gymnastics team in 1980. He also attended CSU-Northridge on a full athletic scholarship, where he was an NCAA Division II All-American in gymnastics.
